Getting to Lucy’s, Polperro
Polperro is a traditional Cornish fishing village with narrow streets and alleys that are generally unsuitable for vehicular traffic. Lucy’s, however, does have the benefit of vehicular access for loading/unloading. By all means, enter the postcode for Lucy’s – PL13 2RX – into your navigation device to get to the outskirts of Polperro. HOWEVER, once you are safely past Looe (or Pelynt if you’re coming via the A390/B3359) SWITCH YOUR SATELLITE NAVIGATION DEVICE OFF, otherwise it will direct you into the centre of the village.
Please consult this map to view the best route to Lucy’s from the outskirts of Polperro. Follow the green arrows on the map carefully, being sure to turn left immediately at the bus stop just past Seaview Holiday Village. DO NOT proceed down the hill into the village because there’s no vehicular access to Lucy’s from that direction.
Generaly speaking, the fastest way to Polperro if you’re driving from counties to the north and east of Devon is to take the UK motorway network to the end of the M5 at Exeter. (Alternatively, use the more direct M3/A303 route if travelling from London and the south east.) From Exeter, follow the A38 Devon Expressway all the way past Plymouth and across the Tamar Toll Bridge into Cornwall.
Continue along the A38 past Saltash, Landrake and Tideford to the A374 junction at Trerulefoot. Turn left on to the A374 (signposted Torpoint) at Trerulefoot and, shortly afterwards, turn right on to the A387. Continue along the A387 through Looe and on to Polperro. However, remember to consult this map once you are within a mile of the village, so you can be sure of taking the best route to Lucy’s.
